Terms and conditions

By entering the Win A Million Qantas Points with True Value Solar, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

1. Standard terms

1.1 Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry.

 

2. Who can enter?

2.1 Subject to clause 2.2, entry is open to all residents of NSW, VIC, QLD, TAS and WA over the age of 18.

2.2 Employees and their immediate families of True Value Solar and Qantas Airways Limited and their associated agencies and companies associated with this promotion are not eligible to enter.

 

3. How to enter

3.1 The competition commences on Wednesday 1 August 2018 at 12pm (AEST) and concludes on Friday 14 September 2018 at 12am (AEDT) (“the Competition Period”)

3.2 In order to enter, entrants must request a solar system quote from True Value Solar to get 1 entry. Entrants will get another 10 entries if they buy a solar system from True Value Solar. Entrants will get another 20 entries if they buy a solar system with battery from True Value Solar.

3.3 By requesting a quote and/ or purchasing from True Solar in accordance with clause 3.2 above, entrants consent to receive promotional and other marketing messages from the Promoter (including messages sent electronically for an unlimited period of time). Entrants will be able to opt-out at any time by following the instructions included in each message sent by the Promoter.

3.4 Entrants must provide contact details and valid Qantas Frequent Flyer number on request to be eligible to win. Entrants may only enter in their own name. Inaudible, incomprehensible, illegible, and incomplete entries may be deemed invalid.

3.5 In requesting a quote, an Entrant must provide the following:

• Their Full Name
• Address of their property they wish to have solar installed on
• Best phone number to contact them on
• indicate if their roof is colorbond or tile
• Is their house Single Storey or Double Storey?
• Their monthly electricity bill (please attach with email) and surname

 

4. Number of Entries permitted

4.1 One entry per True Value Solar quote. If an entrant proceeds to buy one full-priced True Value Solar system, they will get another 10 entries. If an entrant adds a solar battery from True Value Solar to their purchase, they will get another 20 Entries.

4.2 All entrants must retain their original receipts or documents to validate proof of purchase during the promotional period. Such evidence must, on request by the Promoter, be provided to the reasonable satisfaction of the Promoter, to demonstrate that the entrant has complied with these Terms and Conditions. Any entrant found to be sharing any receipt or other proof to demonstrate Proof of Purchase with any other entrant, whether or not related in any way, will have all entries invalidated and will not be able to claim a prize. If such an entrant is awarded a prize and then found to have breached this clause, the entrant must immediately return any awarded prize to the Promoter. The Promoter has sole discretion to determine if this clause has been breached by any entrant. The Promoter reserves the right to request whatever documentation it deems necessary to confirm if the entrant has breached this clause. An entrant must provide any requested documentation to the Promoter upon request. The Promoter may conduct an immediate redraw if the first drawn entrant is unable to satisfy this clause.

4.2 If an eligible entrant who has purchased one or more full-priced entries and are therefore eligible to enter the draw cancel their purchase or entries and receive a part or full refund prior the draw, will forfeit the right to be in the draw nor will they have an entry into the competition by virtue of obtaining a quote.

4.3 Entries are not transferable to other people.

 

5. Prizes

5.1 There will be one (1) prize winner in total. The Winner will receive:

5.2 The maximum notional value of the Prize Pool of 1,000,000 Qantas Points is $30,372.67 based on the Qantas Frequent Flyer redemption of 60,000 Qantas Points for a one-way Economy Classic Flight Reward from Sydney to London (Heathrow) plus AU$276.64 in applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges, accurate as at 16 March 2018. The dollar fare for an equivalent commercial flight totals AU$2,099 including taxes fees and carrier charges. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for change in prize value between now and the ultimate date on which the prize is taken.

5.3 The Prize is awarded and must be redeemed, in accordance with and subject to the Terms and Conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program (Qantas.com/terms), the Qantas Store Terms of Use (Qantas.com/store), voucher terms and conditions (including expiry rules) if relevant, and any other terms and conditions disclosed at the time of redemption.

5.4 The redemption of the Prize is subject to the availability of Rewards that may be obtained through the Qantas Frequent Flyer program.

5.5 In the event that the Prize is redeemed for Reward travel, the winner should be aware that the number of Reward flight seats available is limited and availability depends on the flight, date, season and destination and some flights may not have any Reward seats available. Please note that the prize is for points alone. The winner will be responsible for all consequential applicable taxes, fees and carrier charges of Reward travel or accommodation booked by redeeming their prize. Taxes, fees and carrier charges vary depending on departure points, routes, exchange rates and dates of travel, are subject to change without notice and are quoted at the time of booking. Reward flights must be booked at least 24 hours before scheduled departure (and other advance booking requirements may apply). Reward travel is subject to the fare rules and the Conditions of Carriage of the relevant carrier. Compliance with immigration, health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the winner.

5.6 In accepting the prize, the Winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed.  The Winner grants the Promoter a perpetual and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and they will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

5.7 Winners should seek independent financial advice about any tax implications that may arise from the prize.

5.8 The Prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

5.9 The Winner agrees they will not sell or otherwise provide their story and or photographs to any media or other organisation.

 

6. How to win

6.1 There will be one (1) prize winner, who will be drawn from the national pool of entrants.  Each entrant who has entered the competition over the Competition Period and registered all details in accordance with clause 3 (“Qualifying Entrant”) will have their corresponding number of entries included in the draw.  All draws will take place at Permitz Group, 2.03 /4 Ilya Avenue Erina NSW 2250 on 17 September 2018 at 11am.

6.2 A member of the True Value Solar team will contact the Winner by phone and email within two (2) business days.  The Qantas Points will be credited to the Winner’s Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership within 6 weeks of the winner being notified.

6.3. The winner’s name will also be published on 3 October 2018 at Truevaluesolar.com.au/millionpointswinner for 28 days.

6.4 The winner drawn will need their entry details, to match their Qantas Frequent Flyer Profile to be eligible to be announced as having the winning entry.

6.5 The Promoter may conduct such further draws on 8 January 2019 at 11am at Permitz Group 2.03 /4 Ilya Avenue Erina NSW 2250 in order to distribute any prizes unclaimed by this date, subject to State and Territory legislation. Winners of any further draws will be notified by phone and email within two business days of the draw. Their names will be published on 10 January 2019 at Truevaluesolar.com.au/millionpointswinner for 28 days.

6.6 The Promoter’s decision is final and the Promoter will not enter into correspondence regarding the result.

6.7 It is a condition of accepting the prize that the Winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the Promoter in its absolute discretion.

 

7. No liability

7.1 True Value Solar Pty Ltd and Qantas Airways Limited, and their associated agencies and companies associated with this promotion, will take no responsibility for prizes damaged or lost in transit, or late, lost or misdirected mail.

7.2 True Value Solar Pty Ltd and Qantas Airways Limited, and their associated employees, agencies and companies associated with this promotion will not be liable for any misadventure, accident, injury, loss or claim, damages, costs and expenses suffered, sustained or incurred (including but not limited to indirect or consequential) as a result of, or arising out of, or in any way connected) with this promotion and/or its prizes that may occur:

•  during the draw;
•  in the participation in any prize;
•  as a consequence of late, lost or misdirected mail;
•  due to the broadcast of any program relating to the competition or the publication of any material, including any statements made by any compere, staff member, journalist, other entrants or any other person;
•  due to circumstances outside the promoter’s reasonable control.

7.3 Subject to State Regulation, in the case of the intervention of any outside act, agent or event which prevents or significantly hinders the Promoter’s ability to proceed with the competition on the dates and in the manner described in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike, war, act of terrorism, the Promoter may in its absolute discretion cancel the competition and recommence it from the start on the same conditions.

7.4 True Value Solar Pty Ltd and Qantas Airways Limited and their associated agencies and companies associated with this promotion assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, and reserves the right to take any action that may be available, subject to State Regulation.

7.5 Subject to State Regulation, if for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, due to causes including but not limited to tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of the promoter which corrupt or affect the administration security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this competition, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition.

7.6 By entering the competition, and by collecting a prize, the winner acknowledges and accepts that driving, travel and any other activities comprising the prize, are inherently dangerous and may result in death, injury, incapacity, damage to property or other losses. The Promoter is not responsible for any acts of god, such as adverse weather conditions or industrial action or civil commotion that may occur whilst the winner is travelling. It is the responsibility of the prize-winner to enquire about local issues and conditions at destinations prior to travel.

8.3 PRIVACY POLICY: True Value Solar Pty Ltd (ABN 11 143 232 482), is collecting your personal information for the purpose of conducting and promoting this Competition, including for the purpose of identifying and notifying winners and understanding our audiences. True Value Solar Pty Ltd   will otherwise handle your personal information in accordance with  True Value Solar Pty Ltd’s Privacy Policy  available at https://truevaluesolar.com.au/privacy-policy/ (and which contains information regarding how you can access your personal information, correct it and/or make a complaint about our handling of your personal information). Entry details will be held for as long as required by government legislation. By providing your personal information below, you agree to the terms of the Privacy Policy.  Without limiting the foregoing, True Value Solar Pty Ltd  may disclose the entrant’s personal information to its related entities, prize providers including Qantas Airways Limited (in which case personal information will be handled in accordance with Qantas’ Privacy Statement and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Qantas Frequent Flyer program to validate prize winners) business partners and external service providers for research, profiling and analytical purposes as well as other purposes reasonably related to the entrant’s relationship with True Value Solar Pty Ltd. In addition, by entering this competition, you consent to True Value Solar Pty Ltd  using your personal information for the purpose of True Value Solar Pty Ltd  and its related entities sending you information regarding programs, products and services available through them and/ or through their business partners, and to True Value Solar Pty Ltd  from time to time sharing your personal information with carefully selected business partners for the purpose of them sending you such information directly.  We will always provide you with the ability to opt out of those communications https://truevaluesolar.com.au/.
