Average Electricity Bill*
Japan has been predicted to become the world’s second largest in solar power with greater incentives beginning July 1. The Industry Minister has set a premium price for solar electricity that may encourage up to 3.2 gigawatts in capacity of solar installation, totalling $9.6 billion. The rate paid for solar power is set at 42 yen (53 cents) a kilowatt-hour for 20
years to solar power producers. This is twice the rate of Germany, who is currently the world’s largest in solar power installation.
