The solar market in Canada is continuing to increase with Canadian solar buying into 16 solar projects by SkyPower Ltd, Canada’s largest owner and developer of solar energy, costing close to C$185 million. These projects are set to generate 190 to 200 megawatts as well as C$800 million in revenue as they start commencement 2013 and expect to be fully operational in 2014.
The Canadian market is also looking for a new wind project to take place in Ontario, Canada. GE’s wind turbines will power the new wind project and add 100 megawatts of clean energy to the area. This project supports the Ontario Green Energy Act as an initiative to expand renewable energy production, encourage energy conservation and create green jobs.
