The nation’s first large scale solar auction has been narrowed to 22 proposals from 10 different developers by the ACT government. The developers would be able to bid on the first 40MW to be allocated under the program.
The first large scale solar project is now under construction with a 10MW facility in Western Australia by Verve Energy and General Electric. Of the 22 proposals, a minimum of 2 proposals will be chosen for the first 40MW of solar powered electricity, to also prevent monopoly in the solar power industry.
